Back from vaca

The Brit and I have returned from our Caribbean vacation and coming back to Europe has been a shock. On top of the jet lag, we’ve experienced a 30 degree (F) change in temperature.

The trip out was less than pleasant. On the long plane ride from London we had to listen to an annoying former elementary school teacher praise every little breath her 3 children took, in a cloying, high voice. To top it off, I was suffering from a cold and had a rather large man sitting next to me (not the Brit, he was on the other side) who appeared to also have a cold AND he slept for most of the flight and snored.

That said, once we stepped off the plane, things were great. The 2.5 weeks went too quickly. Just when we got used to the sun and heat, it was time to return.

But the big news is…….. the Brit and I are married. That’s right, we eloped!

My parents weren’t really surprised and are quite happy for us. Apparently my mother is telling everyone she can that she has a new son through marriage. Our friends were caught off guard but have congratulated us.

The Brit’s family has been ok for the most part, but one of his sisters hasn’t even acknowledged the fact that we got hitched. I have no idea what her problem is, but at the moment I don’t really care.

Thanks. It feels weird calling him my husband, but hopefully I'll get over that (eventually). :)

Congratulations!

Here's to many happy years and hoping you don't find the term "husband" mundane after a few - well, until the first ten years are under the belt!

LOL
