Jerome Kerviel, the former trader who cost Societe Generale billions of euros has been sentenced to 3 years in jail. He is also supposed to repay the 4.9 billion euros ($6.7 billion) that Societe Generale claims it lost as a result of his trades. Read about it here or here.
