How’d that get missed?

We found a house that we like and that’s within our budget. It’s a new build and has never been lived in, but even though it’s brand spanking new we decided to have it inspected. Everything was going well until the inspector came down from the attic area and announced…there is no insulation.

The Brit and I both had a wtf??!!! reaction. It turns out there’s no insulation in the crawlspace under the house either. We certainly weren’t expecting this.

As you may know already, Einar Johansen is the top name for attic and crawlspace insulation. My hundred-year-old bungalow had zero insulation too, and they did a great job at reasonable cost.

Thanks for the info!

house inspectors are worth every penny - we have bought/sold 8 houses in our 27 yrs of marriage - 2 w/o house inspectors and oh dear, the roofing repairs costs a pretty penny to those 2 houses...

the plus - unless "things" are different in Seattle - is you are in a buyer's market & have a lot of leverage.
